How many times we ask ourselves the same question? Lots of times right? We ask ourselves this questions, but not wanting to think about the answer, feeling scared and petrified of the real truth. It is us that set our own limits, either for fear, laziness of simply because we do not believe in ourselves, or have the faith that, if we put the time and effort, success can be achieved.

Be brave

In this world, there are millions of people that don’t value themselves, who believe that they do not deserve to be successful in their lives and settle with whatever they have at that moment in time, almost forgetting about the future, and how their environment would change as the years go by. Later on, they regret the fact that they were not brave enough to take all the challenges needed to reach their goals, their potential and reach their dreams.

How are you measuring success?

The truth is that the personal and professional success is not measured by the salary you earn, the bigger or smaller your office is, the car you drive or the money you have in the bank. The professional success is measured in how many challenges you have overcome successfully, in the interest and quality of our work; quality that will be recognised wherever you go; how interesting our work was and how much you loved what you were doing. When we do something that we love, we progress personally and professionally. We need to push aside our fears, all those negative emotions that make you doubt about yourself, your professional value and strength. We need to learn to discover our strengths, skills and values, as well as our mistakes so that we can develop strategies to learn from them and overcome future difficulties. It is also good to recycle ourselves, understanding that systems and methods of work can be improved, that things change and transform with the time. We need to develop our ability and mental skills to move with the time. It is well known that experience has great value, but if we do not continue to expand our knowledge, skills and belief systems, we will be stuck and miss opportunities.

Now that we are aware of why we do not progress professionally, we need to learn to overcome our fears, remove the barriers that we set ourselves to avoid the challenges that we may encounter in our way to success. Remember that we are what we believe, we must not allow our fears to become the captain of our lives and the conformism the sails that determine the direction of our professional and emotional efforts. Therefore, do not underestimate yourself as there will always be a place where you will be valued if you try your best.
